BRUCE AND SALLY - YOUR MINESHAFT HOSTS
Your hosts at the Mineshaft Pub and the Mines Motel are Bruce Simon and Sally Bird. Originally from Aldergrove BC.
They first came to visit Bralorne in May of 2007. Immediately they were struck by the beauty and serenity of this place and loved how friendly and accessible the locals were.
Unable to stay in town for the night, Bruce and Sally drove all the way to Tyax Resort, 30 minutes away. Though Tyax is situated on beautiful Tyaughton Lake, they found that they liked the look and feel of Bralorne more. The magic of the mountains and the town worked very swiftly on Bruce and Sally and they were hooked.
They soon came back to visit again, and the rest is history.
Down in the town of Gold Bridge, 11 kilometers north of Bralorne, they met Rockin’ Rosie who used to run the pub for its former owners.
Rosie took Bruce and Sally on a tour of the pub and motel which had been closed for 8 months. They immediately fell in love with the place and knew it was meant to be. They initiated procedures to buy both establishments.
By July 1st, 2007, Bruce and Sally took possession of the Mineshaft Pub and the Mines Motel. They painted and renovated for months on end, assisted by John Raine, a local of long standing stature.

The Mineshaft Pub opened on December 15, 2007. The house was packed with well wishers and partiers. The grand opening took place on January 15, 2008 with a full house band and enthusiastic dancing till the end. A night to remember!
Sally Bird spent eleven years working at Jimy Mac’s pub in Langley, BC. She is well is acquainted with the pub business and the service industry.
Bruce is a business man of considerable repute. Together they form an excellent partnership, and both share a love of wilderness adventures in their backyard of Bralorne.
Bruce and Sally remain open in heart and manner to all who come to visit Bralorne and spend time at their pub and motel.
